Overnight periods of light snow accumulation, as well as patchy freezing drizzle, combined with temperatures falling into the teens and 20s, have created the potential for slick and icy conditions, primarily on untreated roadways, sidewalks and driveways. Motorists are advised to use caution, allow extra travel time and maintain increased stopping distance if traveling.

Robert Fritz
Robert J. "Bob" Fritz, 89, of St. Marys, died at 4:50 p.m. Jan. 14, 2014, at the St. Marys Living Center.
He was born March 29, 1924, in Wapakoneta, the son of Oliver and Minerva Dresher Fritz. He married Dorothy L. Jurosic on May 25, 1950, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wapakoneta, and she survives at the residence.
Also surviving are two children, Nancy (Rick) Hornich, Mt. Vernon, and David (Susan) Fritz, St. Marys; five grandchildren, Ashley Bunnell, Columbus, Matthew Bunnell, Jacksonville, Fla., Laura (Dustin) Taylor, St. Marys, Amy (Jon) Crusie, Celina, and Kelly Fritz, St. Marys; and two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Logan Taylor.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Betty Vogel.
He was a graduate of Blume High School in Wapakoneta and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He retired from Crown Equipment Corporation, where he was a maintenance supervisor. He also had worked at Moran's Refrigeration in St. Marys for many years and owned an appliance repair business. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and shooting. He was a life member of the NRA. He was a member of American Legion Post 323, the Knights of Columbus, and Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Marys. He was a real handyman who could repair anything.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the Rev. Barry Stechschulte officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Friday at Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, where memorial gifts may be given to Friends of Holy Rosary School, Grand Lake Hospice or St. Marys Living Center.
