Scattered snow showers will become more widespread through this afternoon and then likely linger into this evening before tapering off into tonight.
The snow showers will be capable of causing brief periods of reduced visibilities, especially this afternoon. In addition, brisk conditions will prevail with west winds gusting in the 30 to 40 mph range today.
Light snow accumulations will be possible, mainly on grassy and elevated surfaces. While roads will remain mostly wet during the daytime hours, some slick spots may develop toward sunset and beyond as temperatures drop below freezing.
Please be prepared for the changing weather conditions today and the potential for reduced visibilities when driving.

Evelyn Meyers
Evelyn R. Meyers, 94, died Feb. 2, 2014, at Wesley Glen Retirement Center.
She was born Jan. 21, 1920, in Center Township, Mercer County, to William H. and Ruth Harner Meyers.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Vivian Meyers, St. Paris; a nephew, Wade (Marsha) Meyers, Urbana; a niece, Yvonne (Mark) Souders, Hilliard; great-nieces, Tawnya (Matthew) Lewis, Hilliard, Alison (Jared Rodgers) Meyers, Carmel, Calif., Dr. Lynette (Dr. Bradley) Mehl, Dublin, Lindsay (Scott) Allison, Urbana, and Whitney Meyers, Washington, D.C.; great-great nieces, Victoria Lewis, Angeline Allison and Elizabeth Lewis; and great-great nephews, William Lewis, Austin Mehl and Gavin Mehl.
Deceased are a brother, William W. "Bud" Meyers, and a nephew, William Douglas Meyers.
She was a graduate of Neptune High School, Celina, and earned a bachelor of science degree and master of arts degree in education from The Ohio State University. She also attended Bowling Green State University, Miami University, Case Western Reserve University and Ohio Dominican University. She retired from Columbus Public Schools. She also taught in the public schools of Waynesfield, Galion, and Cleveland Heights. She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Celina, for more than 75 years and attended Maple Grove United Methodist Church in Columbus for over 45 years.
She was a lifetime member of The Ohio State University Alumni Association and the Ohio Education Association. She was also a member of the Clintonville Woman's Club and the Ohio Historical Society, Past Matron of Worthington Chapter 287 Order of Eastern Star and president of OES Hospital Circle and president of the District 17 OES Cancer Project. She was the recipient of the Grand Cross of Color from the Order of the Rainbow for girls. Among her numerous volunteer projects, she served for many years as an usher at Mershon Auditorium. She also was a docent at the Orange Johnson House in Worthington.
Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Friday at Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home, Worthington.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with an OES Service at 7:30 p.m.
Burial is at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.
