Mary Brotherwood
Mary Ann Brotherwood, 86, St. Marys, died at 8:59 a.m. May 12, 2014, at Lima Memorial Health System.
She was born April 18, 1928, in St. Marys, to Harry R. and Elizabeth Rachel Miller Boltz. On April 4, 1953, she married Donald L. Brotherwood in Portland, Ind., and he survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Donald (Nancy) Brotherwood, St. Marys, Dean (Ann) Brotherwood, St. Marys, and Steven (Teresa) Brotherwood, St. Marys; four daughters, Elizabeth (Mark) Hemmert, Botkins, Amy (Glenn) Norman, St. Marys, Susan (Don) Henline, St. Marys, and Susan LaFleur, St. Marys; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jane Boltz, Coldwater.
Deceased are three sisters, Louise McDermitt, Esther Boltz and Jean Ackley, and three brothers, Bill Boltz, Harry Boltz Jr. and Louis Boltz.
She was a homemaker and worked as a waitress for several area restaurants. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, St. Marys. Her favorite pastimes included collecting dolls, cooking and baking, growing flowers in her garden, following Cincinnati Reds baseball and spoiling her dog "Sissy."
She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who truly enjoyed caring for her family.
Rites are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.
Calling is 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the Putnam County Hospice program.
