The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

William Roether
William Roger Roether, 80, passed away May 21, 2014.
He was born June 13, 1933, in Celina, to the late Lee and Maxine Roether. His wife, Delores Roether, survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Dana (Diana) Roether, Ada, and Darrell Roether, Columbia; two daughters, Diana (Terry) Orick, Celina, and Denise (Steve) Gunter, Blythewood; 11 grandchildren and six great- grandchildren
Deceased is a brother, David Roether.
He was a graduate of Neptune High School and worked with the Auxiliary Highway Patrol of Ohio. He was a member of the Neptune First Church of God where he served as an usher. He was part of the Explosive Ordinance Device Team in the U.S. Army.
He also had a sweet tooth and would wave and talk to anyone, friend or stranger. He loved every episode of Mayberry RFD, whether it was the first or the millionth time he watched the episode. He enjoyed being outdoors watching the wildlife and never met an animal he didn't try to make his friend. He was a farm machinery mechanic and worked tirelessly to help farmers keep their equipment in top condition. He never asked for a thank you but received much adulation from his customers. He was a loving and loyal husband and devoted to his family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Humane Society, 121 Humane Lane, Columbia, S.C., 29209, or a local animal shelter.
