Light snow is expected to develop across the area after midnight, shifting to the southeast through the predawn hours. This band of light snow will affect the region by the Thursday morning commute, eventually pushing south of the area by mid- morning.
Minor snow accumulations of less than an inch are expected, but cold ground conditions will allow for quick accumulation on any untreated surfaces. The main impacts are expected to be reduced visibilities and some slick spots on untreated surfaces.
Motorists should exercise caution. Plan extra time for the Thursday morning commute.

Blood battle for a good cause

Tami Metz of the American Red Cross draws blood from Mercer County Sheriff's Deputy Dan Adams during Tuesday's Battle of the Badges at the sheriff's office. The first-time event pitted law enforcement officers and firefighters in a race to see which group could donate the most blood. Headed by chief deputy Gery Thobe, the battle resulted in the collection of 47 units with law enforcement contributing 33 units.
