Scattered snow showers will continue through mid morning. With temperatures well below freezing, light snow accumulations will combine with lingering black ice from overnight, to create some slick spots on area roadways. In addition, brisk westerly winds will gust in the 25 to 35 mph range this morning.
If traveling this morning, allow for some extra time to reach your destination. Be prepared for slick conditions, especially on bridges and overpasses as well as untreated surfaces.

Country Fest underway

The 27th annual Maria Stein Country Fest begins today and continues through Sunday at the Shrine of the Holy Relics off St. Johns Road. The Pirates of the Columbian Caribbean demonstrate their high-wire act that will be featured throughout the weekend. The event includes a full schedule of free entertainment along with a craft show, games, various competitions and a wide variety of food such as turtle soup, deep fried chicken, cabbage rolls, waffles and strawberry shortcake.
