Shirley Maier
  Shirley Ann Maier, 74, Celina, passed away at 8:40 p.m. July 24, 2014, at her home.
She was born Sept. 19, 1939, in St. Peter, to Walter Bertke, who is deceased, and Leona Miller Bertke, who survives in Fort Recovery. On July 4, 1959, she married James Lee Maier, who survives in Celina.
Also surviving are five children, Daniel L. (Susan) Maier, Celina, Brenda L. Maier, Dallas, Texas, Kimberly S. Barhorst, Wapakoneta, Ronda L. Westover, Celina, and Shawn L. Maier, Celina; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brothers- and sisters-in-law, Jerry Bertke, Fort Recovery, Wally Bertke, Fort Recovery, Louis (Kathy) Bertke, Tremont, Ill, Melvin (Karen) Bertke, Fort Recovery, Georgia Bertke, Fort Recovery, Judith Homan, Fort Recovery, Mary Jo (Dick) Colson, Celina, Ruth Stoepfel, Celina, Dallas (Linda) Maier, Celina, Richard (Pat) Maier, Celina, and Phyllis Maier, Celina.
Deceased are a brother, Leroy Bertke, and in-laws, Ernie Homan, Pat Bertke, Cletus Stoepfel and Robert Maier.
She was formerly employed at Wrights Truck Stop, Mersman Furniture, Buckeye Overhauls, and Huffy. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina. She loved pets and was an advocate for the Humane Society.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home, Celina, Fr. Kenneth G. Alt officiating. Burial will follow in Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
A private family viewing will be held at the Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Mercer County.
