Louis Leroy Fleck, 75, Knoxville, Tenn., died suddenly July 27, 2014, during a family visit to Piedmont, Calif.

He was born Feb. 20, 1939, in Celina to William and Anna Fullenkamp Fleck. He was married to his wife, Marjorie, for 21 years. She survives in Knoxville.

Also surviving are a daughter, Lisa, Charlotte, N.C.; a son, David (Lauren), Piedmont, Calif.; two brothers, Walter and Carl, Celina; two stepsons, Christopher Staton, Chicago, and Eric Staton, Manning, S.C.; a brother-in-law, Robert (Carol) Priddy, Livonia, Mich.; three grandchildren, David's daughter, Eloise ("Lulu" to honor Lou) Emily, Piedmont, Calif., and Eric's daughters, Madison Staton and Jordan Staton, Bladenboro, N.C.; and several nephews and nieces.

Deceased are his first wife, Norma, who passed away in 1991; his sister, Marie Fleck Kuhn, Celina, who passed away in 2008; and two sisters-in-law, Florinda Fleck in 2002 and Mary Ann Fleck in 2013.

He graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in Celina and International Business College in Fort Wayne, Ind. He served in the Illinois U.S. Army Reserve and the Indiana Army National Guard from 1961 to 1967. He lived most of his life in Fort Wayne, retiring from Central Soya Co. in 2001 as chief controller after 41 years of service.

Many of those years were spent traveling throughout Europe and Central and South America. He was a long-time active member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Fort Wayne and an active member of the Fort Wayne chapter of the Service Corps of Retired Executives.

In 2009 he and his wife, Marjorie, moved to Knoxville, Tenn., to get away from the northern winters. They became active members in Trinity United Methodist Church. He participated in several functions there including adult Sunday school leader, finance committee, communications committee, church council, Family Promise, trimming and care of shrubbery at the church and was a member of the Old Geezers Group.

A memorial service is 11 a.m. Thursday, at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior to service. Charles Crowder will officiate. Memorial services were held in Knoxville, Tenn. on Monday.

Ashes will be interred at Lindenwood Cemetery in Fort Wayne.

Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, Knoxville, or to Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Fort Wayne.

In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Arthritis Foundation. Arrangements were handled by Weaver Funeral Home, Knoxville, and by D.O. McComb and Sons, Fort Wayne.
