Emily Timmerman
Emily "Jean" Sphar Hill Timmerman, 85, formerly of Fort Loramie, passed away of natural causes Sept. 5, 2014, at Heritage Manor Nursing Center, Minster.
She was born Jan 22, 1929, in Osborn, to Frank G. and Amy Ainsworth Sphar. On July 30, 1949, she married Wallace L. Hill, who died Oct. 29, 1984. On March 21, 1987, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie, she married Wilfred H. Timmerman, who died Aug. 5, 2009.
Surviving are 12 stepchildren, James (Janie) Timmerman, Fort Recovery, Barbara Phlipot, Russia, Thomas (Mary Ann) Timmerman, Fort Loramie, Joseph (Deborah) Timmerman, Russia, Stephen (Sandra) Timmerman, Burketsville, Raymond (Karen) Timmerman, New Bremen, Paul (Patty) Timmerman, Fort Loramie, Michael (Ann) Timmerman, Fort Loramie, Patrick (Diane) Timmerman, Minster, Norbert Timmerman, Minster, Maurice (Ann Meyer) Timmerman, New Bremen, and Theresa (Jack) Keiber, Russia; 46 stepgrandchildren; 90 stepgreat-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Sowers, Dayton; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Irene Timmerman, Fort Recovery, Loudonna Timmerman, Coldwater, Alma Timmerman, Coldwater, Bernard Hartings, St. Henry, Edna (Paul) Klingshirn, Coldwater, Lucille (Jerry) Laux, Fort Recovery, and Urban Dirksen, Fort Recovery; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Also deceased are a stepson-in-law, Harry Phlipot; a stepdaughter-in-law, Marcia Timmerman; a stepgrandson; two stepgreat-grandsons; and brothers- and sisters-in-law, Norman Sowers, Gerald, Richard and Louis Timmerman, Erma (Arthur) Eischen, Ruth (LaVern) Gruss, Joan (Gregor) Hartings, Esther Hartings and Bernice Dirksen.
She was a 1947 graduate of Franklin (Monroe) Township High School. She was a payroll secretary for 33 years at Milk Marketing Inc., Dayton, until she retired in 1987. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie.
She loved her stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren. She also enjoyed singing, camping, solving crossword puzzles and electronic solitaire.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael Church, Fort Loramie, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. today and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at Gehret Funeral Home, Fort Loramie.
