Steven Kremer
Steven H. Kremer, 58, New Bremen, died Nov. 20, 2014, at his home.
He was born July 9, 1956, in Coldwater, to the late Norbert and Edna Goettemoeller Kremer. On Aug. 13, 1983, he married Linda E. Kleinhenz, who survives in New Bremen.
Also surviving are his children, Matthew P. Kremer, Dublin, Anthony D. (Kimberly) Kremer, Hilliard, Jeffrey S. Kremer, Columbus, Douglas G. Kremer, Columbus, and Rachel M. Kremer, at home; brothers and sisters, Gerald (Elizabeth) Kremer, Marvin (Pamela) Kremer, Sharon (Bradley) Moore, and Ann (Randy) Puthoff; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Paul (Jane) Kleinhenz, Carolyn (Bob) Staker, Dan (Joan) Kleinhenz, Rose Dues, Jim (Chris) Kleinhenz, Mike (Karen) Kleinhenz, Ted (Diana) Kleinhenz, Janet (Randy) Evers, and Judy (John) Heitkamp.
Deceased are his in-laws, Paul and Irene Kleinhenz.
He was known for his good nature and positive attitude. He was a virtuous husband, father and role model. He loved his children and wife and dedicated himself to their happiness and well-being. He was a devoted member of Christ's body as a member of The Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. He never knew a stranger and had a way of putting people at ease with his kindness and genuine concern for others. He supported his children in all their sporting activities, and coached their sports with enthusiasm and sensitivity. He loved playing pinochle and spending time with family and friends. He was a fighter and he was able to make it to his son's beautiful wedding last week.
He graduated from St. Henry High School in 1974, and from The Ohio State University with a bachelors degree in civil engineering. He was a Cub Scout leader for 10 years. He coached Little League baseball and softball for 15 years and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 2640, St. Henry. He retired after 32 years as a construction area engineer from the Ohio Department of Transportation. He was a professional engineer and surveyor and owned and operated Kremer Surveying.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, New Bremen, the Rev. Thomas Mannebach officiating. Burial is in German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
Calling in 1-7 p.m. Sunday and 8:30-9:30 a.m. Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First National Bank, New Bremen, for Steven and Linda's children's education fund.
