Norman McDermitt
Norman D. McDermitt, 75, St. Marys, died at 6:50 p.m. Dec. 1, 2014, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
He was born Nov. 3, 1939, in Noble Township, Auglaize County, to Roy and Onis Craft McDermitt. On June 9, 1957, in Wapakoneta, he married Hyla L. Jung, who survives at the residence.
Also surviving are three children, Mary (Michael) Tebbe, St. Marys, Wade McDermitt, Union City, Ind., and Daniel (Tayla) McDermitt, St. Marys; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two siblings, Robert (Linda) McDermitt, St. Marys, and Dorothy Wilkins, St. Marys; and a brother-in-law, Wade William Jung, Sacramento, Calif.
Deceased are six siblings, Margaret Wehnnes, Betty Rumpff, Evelyn Wheeler, Ruth Howell, Guy McDermitt and Freedus McDermmitt.
He had worked at the Weston Paper Mill, Buel Lumber Co., Fisher Cheese, St. Marys Lumber, St. Marys Township and the Siferd Hosselman Co. He will be remembered as a great father and provider for his family.
Rites are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home, west chapel, St. Marys, Pastor Jon Kraner officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
