Ruth W. Canary, 91, Rockford, passed away at 11:44 p.m. Dec. 20, 2014, at her daughter's residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Washington Court House on March 14, 1923, to Harry Guy and Jennie Gertrude Flint Ford. On Oct. 27, 1945, she married Ralph P. Canary, who died Oct. 3, 1994.

Surviving are two sons, Terry (Mary Lee) Canary, Celina, and Keith (Cindy) Canary, Rockford; one daughter, Donna (Troy) Riley, Rockford; a sister, Doris Borns, Celina; seven grandchildren, Chris (Penny) Canary, Traci Canary, Amy (Dave) Bran-steter, Shannon (Ray) Frick, Shane Riley and Julie and Jessica (Ryan) Herzog; 11 great-grandchildren, Slade (Kerri) Canary, Afton and Logan Canary, Miranda and Mason Temple, Riley and Raegen Bransteter, Stone and Coleton Riley, and Amanda and Andrew Frick; and one great-great-grandchild, Kynslee Temple.

Also deceased are two brothers, Gene and Phillip Ford.

She was a homemaker who loved her family. She loved cooking and baking for them. She also loved gardening and pulling weeds. Her biggest hobby, though, was "just piddlin' around."

Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Zion United Methodist Church, Celina, Pastor Ken Baker officiating.

Calling is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
