Ruth Luelleman
Ruth G. Luelleman, 93, New Bremen, died at 8:05 a.m. Feb. 16, 2015, at Otterbein of Cridersville.
She was born April 6, 1921, in New Bremen, the daughter of Edwin and Frances (Dickman) Burmeister, who are deceased. On June 21, 1941, she married Richard G. Luelleman, who died Feb. 6.
Surviving are their children, Jan and Kathy Luelleman, Wapakoneta, and Sandra and Tom Bergman, St. Marys; grandchildren, Jeff and Kelli Luelleman, Marysville, Lori Luelleman and Amy Luelleman, both of Wapakoneta, Christopher and Victoria Bergman, Sioux Falls, S.D., Tonya Robinson, Xenia, Ben Bergman, Chicago, Ill., Patrick and Diana Bergman, Toledo, and Tiffany and Dustin Cernan, Wapakoneta; great-grandchildren, Abigail, Brycen, Samuel, Will, Owen, Sophia, Emma, Noah, Zachary, Jacob and Everett; a sister, Marie Kitzmiller, St. Marys; and a brother-in-law, Bill Sawmiller, St. Marys.
Also deceased are her sisters, Rose Mary Martin and Doris Louise Sawmiller.
She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, New Bremen. She also was a member of the New Bremen Historic Association, the former Shirts and Skirts Western Square Dance Club, the Joint Township District Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, the New Bremen Women's Club and the NW Chapter Hair Guild of Ohio.
An avid card player, she belonged to several card clubs over the years. She was a state licensed hair dresser, owning and operating Ruth's Beauty Shop in New Bremen for 43 years.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul United Church of Christ, New Bremen, the Rev. Becky Erb Strang officiating. Burial will follow at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, and 10-11 a.m. Friday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the church memorial fund or the New Bremen Historic Association.
