Lenora Gritzmaker
Lenora A. Gritzmaker, 99, New Knoxville, died at the St. Marys Living Center, St. Marys, on Feb. 16, 2015.
She was born June 12, 1915, in New Knoxville, the daughter of Henry H. and Anna C. (Kuck) Niemeyer, who are deceased. On March 8, 1941, in New Knoxville, she married Ben Gritzmaker, who died in 1972.
Surviving are two daughters, Jean Ann Henschen, Westerville, and Karen L. (DeVerre) Knickel, Little River, S.C.; three grandchildren, Jodi, Jill and Ben; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Also deceased is her son-in-law, James Henschen.
She was a 1933 graduate of New Knoxville High School and a lifetime member of First Church of New Knoxville, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She retired from the New Knoxville Telephone Company in 1988, where she had worked for 39 years as a switchboard operator and later as office clerk. She was a charter member of the New Knoxville Historical Society. In her later years, she was known for the many afghans she crocheted and donated to church charities.
Funeral rites are 2 p.m. Thursday at First Church of New Knoxville, the Rev. Beth Ernest officiating. Burial will follow at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville.
Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church.
Memorial gifts may be given to the Radio Broadcast Fund of the church or the New Knoxville Historical Society.

Arrangements are being handled by Vornholt-Miller Funeral Home, 200 W. Spring St., New Knoxville.
