Naomi Rison
Naomi A. Rison, 86, formerly of St. Marys, died at 4:35 p.m. Feb. 24, 2015, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
She was born Aug. 27, 1928, in Auglaize County, St. Marys Township, to Leo and Mary (Ruedebusch) Schroeder, who are deceased. On Sept. 10, 1949, in New Bremen, she married William C. Rison, who died April 27, 1982.
Surviving are three daughters, Kristine (David) Stelzer, Hilliard, Kathleen "Kay" (Steve) Burke, Glynwood, and Carol (Kim Wannemacher) Rison, Celina; six grandchildren, Jacob Rison, Kacie Rison, Kelly Wilker, Greg Burke, Liz Skerl and Matt Stelzer; and seven great-grandchildren.
Also deceased is a sister, Edna Tontrup.
She was a 1946 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School. She worked many years for Vanderhorst Cannery, St. Marys. She also worked at the Old Canal Inn, St. Marys, and WKKI radio station, Celina.
She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ and its women's guild and American Legion Post 323 auxiliary, all of St. Marys.
Her favorite pastimes included flower gardening, sewing, embroidery, playing cards and supporting Cincinnati Reds baseball and The Ohio State University Buckeyes football programs. She also greatly enjoyed boating on Grand Lake St. Marys and fishing at Rice Lake in Canada.
Rites are 2 p.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West Chapel), St. Marys, the Rev. Dr. Ed Bray officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
Visitation is noon-2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
