Clarence Sturwold

Clarence Henry Sturwold, age 87 of Vandalia, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2015 in Stonespring of Vandalia.

He was born in Ft. Loramie, Ohio on July 15, 1927 the son of John H. & Mary B. (Dwenger) Sturwold.

He was a member of St. Christopher Church in Vandalia, loved to travel and was a car enthusiast, especially Cadillacs.

He is survived by his 3 children Cynthia A Luthman of Powell, Ohio, Sharon G. (Jack Sr.) Smith of Monroe, Georgia, Clarence John Sturwold of Vandalia, Ohio, former son-in-law Larry Luthman Sr., 5 grandchildren Lisa K. (Jerry) Shepard, Troy, Oh., Jack P. (Crystal) Smith Jr. of Grayson, Ga., Larry J. (Misty) Luthman of Sidney, Oh., Julie C. (Brent) Given of Monroe, Ga., and Jonathan M. Luthman of Sidney, Oh., 9 great grandchildren, brothers Ralph (Mary Ann) Sturwold of Ft. Loramie, Wilbur Sturwold of Russia, Oh., and John (Marlene) Sturwold of Minster, Oh., and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 41 years Helen L. Sturwold in 1992, a brother Gilbert Sturwold, and 3 sisters Marilyn Gaerke, Irma Wendelen and Norma Alexander.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, April 10, 2015 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm in the BLESSING-ZERKLE FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr. Tipp City, Ohio 45371.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 10:30 am in the funeral home with Father Frank Keferl officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City.
