Jean Bruns
Jean E. Bruns, age 88, a resident of Briarwood Manor, Coldwater, and formerly of Chickasaw, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Tuesday, July 28, 2015.
She was born, the oldest of eleven children, on February 16, 1927, in Ft. Recovery, to the late Alfons & Alvina (Krieg) Muhlenkamp. On April 14, 1956, she married Ivo Bruns, who died December 20, 1993.
Surviving are three sons, Dan & Jane Bruns of Chickasaw, Mike Bruns of Montezuma and Tim & Lisa Bruns of Chickasaw, a daughter, Mary Ann & Rick Rinderle of Spokane, Washington, seven grandchildren, Matt, Trina, Kyle, Travis and Adam Bruns, Rachel Barhorst and Kendra Hemmelgarn, seven great-grandchildren, Reidan and Troy Bruns, Grayson and Max Barhorst and Ian, Alex and Kylie Hemmelgarn. Also surviving are brothers and sisters, Dorothy 'Dottie' Brockman of Coldwater, Lori & Charlie Froning of St. Henry, Lucy & Don Beckstedt of Celina, Dale Muhlenkamp of Tustin, California, Mark & Joan Muhlenkamp of Coldwater, Roger & Donna Muhlenkamp of Flagstaff, Arizona, Ron & Carol Muhlenkamp of Coldwater, and Carol & Dale Laux of Celina, and in-laws, Sally Muhlenkamp of Coldwater, Sue Muhlenkamp of Coldwater, Ralph & Roselyn Bruns, Lester & Johanna Bruns and Dorothy & Dennis Bills, all of St. Henry and Joan Bruns of Coldwater.
Deceased are brothers, Robert Muhlenkamp and Richard Muhlenkamp and in-laws, Ed & Marita Elking, Donald Bruns, Lavern Brockman and Gayle Muhlenkamp.
She was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church, Chickasaw, its ladies sodality and the Knights of St. John. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, who enjoyed working on the family farm, playing cards and spending time with family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Precious Blood Church, Chickasaw. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday and from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
