Joan Mescher
Joan R. Mescher, 81, Celina, OH, passed away on August 12, 2015, at 7:35 P.M., at her residence in Celina.
She was born November 23, 1933, in Coldwater, OH, to William and Cecelia (Schwieterman) Forsthoefel; both preceded her in death. On May 5, 1953 she married Ralph Staugler and he preceded her in death on December 22, 1985. She went on to marry Linus Mescher on January 16, 1987 and he preceded her in death on December 9, 2014.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Staugler, Van Wert, and Rodney (Sandy) Staugler, Coldwater; a daughter, Theresa (Rodney) Toler, Mendon; three brothers, Kenneth Forsthoefel, Florida, Herbert (Madeline) Forsthoefel, Coldwater, and Thomas Forsthoefel, Coldwater; three sister-in-laws, Pat Forsthoefel, Dayton, Clara Forsthoefel, Coldwater, and Luetta Forsthoefel, Coldwater; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by two sons, Ralph Staugler, Jr., Randal Staugler; three brothers, Paul Forsthoefel, Donald Forsthoefel, and James Forsthoefel; and a sister, Ruth Muskus.
Joan was a 1951 graduate of Coldwater High School. She worked at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital, Coldwater, and retired from Cooper Foods, St. Henry. After retiring she worked part-time at Plaza Laundry, Celina.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3-7 P.M. Monday, August 17, 2015, in Cisco Funeral Home, Celina.
Private memorial services will be held at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, OH on Tuesday, with Fr. Kenneth Alt, C.PP.S., officiating. Burial will be at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater, OH.
