Oktoberfest button unveiled
Photo by Jared Mauch/The Daily Standard

Minster Oktoberfest President Craig Oldiges, left; mayor Dennis Kitzmiller; and Leon Mertz, chairperson of Das Button Haus, on Tuesday evening showcase the button for the 41st festival. Ted Monnin, Cincinnati, submitted the design for this year's button. The design is dedicated to the memory of Monnin's father, Marv, who died last summer after battling cancer for 10 months. The button is burnt orange with a dark border and features swirling sketches on the left. Kitzmiller also signed a proclamation Oct. 2-4 as Oktoberfest weekend.
