Special Weather Statement issued December 3 at 1:05PM EST by NWS Wilmington OH (details ...)
Light snow is expected to develop across the area after midnight, shifting to the southeast through the predawn hours. This band of light snow will affect the region by the Thursday morning commute, eventually pushing south of the area by mid- morning.
Minor snow accumulations of less than an inch are expected, but cold ground conditions will allow for quick accumulation on any untreated surfaces. The main impacts are expected to be reduced visibilities and some slick spots on untreated surfaces.
Motorists should exercise caution. Plan extra time for the Thursday morning commute.

Carving takes shape
Photo by Shelley Grieshop/The Daily Standard

John Guagenti of On Track Carvings on Thursday works on his latest project in the northeast corner of Coldwater Memorial Park. He is carving a tree trunk into a 120 mm armor-piercing fin stabilized discarding sabot tank round as a tribute to the Army, he said. Earlier this summer he honored the Navy by carving an anchor from a tree near the swimming pool and plans yet this year to complete others for every military branch. His first project in the park - a statue of St. Francis of the Garden - is several yards away from his current one. He also has carved a large baseball bat near one of the diamonds.
