Dennis Wheeler
Dennis A. Wheeler, 66, Mendon, Ohio, died 10:27 A.M. Thursday, September 3, 2015, at Lima Memorial Hospital.
He was born November 23, 1948, in Van Wert, Ohio, the son of Fredric and Ilene (Crow) Wheeler.
He is survived by his children: Kerry (Jim) Hunter of Celina; Barry Wheeler of Celina; a step-son, Terry (Darla) Seibert of Mendon. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and by his siblings Janet (Steve) Mack of Van Wert; Ila (Rick) Rumple of Decatur, Indiana and Jeff Wheeler of Middlebury, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by one step granddaughter, Shirissa Seibert.
Dennis was a graduate of Van Wert High School and retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Saint Marys. He was a member of Eagles Lodge 767 in Saint Marys, and the Celina Moose. He enjoyed camping, hunting, working on cars and motorcycles,and going to flea markets and garage sales. He was a member of the URW and the Mendon First Church of God.
Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at the Mendon First Church of God, Pastor Dean Bruce, officiant. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Tuesday at the Mendon First Church of God, 102 North Wayne Street, Mendon, where memorial gifts may be given to the church.
