Kenneth Schrolucke
Kenneth F. Schrolucke, 73, Saint Marys, Ohio, died 6:15 A.M. Sunday, September 27, 2015, at Parkview Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana, after a brief illness.
He was born November 2, 1941, in Saint Marys Township, the son of Florenz and Clara (Klute) Schrolucke. He married Emma Jane Roode on December 9, 1961, on a snowy night at the Kossuth Methodist Church, and she survives at the residence.
He is also survived by his children: Michelle (Mark) Davis of Oxford, Ohio; Janelle (Gregg) Schmitmeyer of New Bremen; Scott Schrolucke of Saint Marys. He is survived by his grandchildren Morgan Davis, Mason Davis and McKinley Davis; Erika (Andrew) Topp, A.J. Schmitmeyer (fiancee Taylor Schemmel). He is survived by a great-granddaughter, Cora Lynn Topp. He is survived by a brother-in-law, Bud Wright of New Knoxville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and by a sister, Eileen Wright.
Ken was a 1959 graduate of New Knoxville High School and he attended The Ohio State University. He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Saint Marys after 37 years as a pipe fitter.
Ken was very active in the community and had served as the Past President of the Saint Marys Band Parents; had been a volunteer firefighter serving on the Saint Marys Township Fire Department; had coached Little League baseball; was a former member of the Saint Marys Board of Education; was a basketball referee; a former member of the Roode Orchestra; was a member of the Men's Group of the First Church of God in Saint Marys, where he was a member; and was the owner of Salt of the Earth Himalayan Salt Lamp Company. He loved playing cards with his many friends.
Funeral rites will be held 10:30 A.M. Thursday, October 1, 2015, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, Ohio, Pastor Phil Miller, officiant. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, Saint Marys.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home, where memorial gifts may be given to the First Church of God in Saint Marys.
