Jerry Moore
Jerry R. Moore, 78, of St. Marys, OH and formerly of Tipp City, OH, died 4:28 p.m. Wednesday November 25, 2015 at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima, OH.
He was born March 12, 1937 in Dayton, OH to Bruce and Helen (Randall) Moore. On May 26, 1956 in Dayton, OH he married Dixie Lee Leichtle, who survives.
Also survived by: daughter Patricia "Kelley" Long of Bethel Twp., OH; daughter Cara Moore of Tipp City, OH; 4 grandchildren: Derek Long, Lisa Richey, Graham Long, Joseph Richey; 2 great-grandchildren: Aiden Long, Zoey Long; brother Jack (Peggy) Moore of Bellbrook, OH.
Preceded in death by: parents Bruce and Helen Moore.
He was a 1955 graduate of Wilbur Wright High School in Dayton, OH. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Moore retired as regional manager for A T & T.
He was a member of Tipp City United Methodist Church, VFW in Tipp City, Moose Lodge at Indian Lake, Eagles Lodge in St. Marys.
His favorite pastimes included golfing, fishing and woodworking. A skilled artisan, he also created many items with stained glass.
Jerry will be remembered for his warm and friendly personality, wonderful sense of humor and leadership skills.
Rites are scheduled to begin 1:00 p.m. Saturday December 12, 2015 at Meyer Chapel of Otterbein Retirement Community 11230 State Route 364 in St. Marys. Interment at Maple Hill Cemetery in Tipp City.
Visitation one hour prior to services.
