John V. Ainsworth age 78, Portland, Ind., passed away Friday in the Jay County Hospital.

He was born in Mercer County, Ohio May 7, 1937 the son of Alex and Ruth (Brown) Ainsworth. He was married October 12, 1957 to Martha Sudhoff who survives.

He retired from New Idea in Coldwater after 45 years. He graduated from Ansonia High School and served in the National Guard. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Portland and Knights of Columbus in Ft. Recovery.

Surviving are his wife Martha, Five sons Gary Ainsworth (wife Sandra) of North Judson, Indiana, Dale Ainsworth (wife Kristy) of Portland, Donald Ainsworth (wife Sherry) of Bryant, Jim Ainsworth (wife Teresa) of Yorktown and Tom Ainsworth (wife Marilyn) of Cross Plains, TN., One sister Cynthia Sell of Greenville, Eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Fr. Robert Moran presiding. Burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 2:00-7:00 P.M. In the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home.
