Beata Muhlenkamp
Beata M. Muhlenkamp, age 101 of St. Henry, died on Monday, February 15, 2016 at The Gardens at St. Henry.
She was born on February 20, 1914 in Minster to the late Anthony and Anna (Hemmelgarn) Knapke. On August 23, 1938 she married Vincent Muhlenkamp of St. Anthony. He preceded her in death on January 9, 1987.
She is survived by nine children: Nancy (Jim) Lynch, Villa Park, CA, Jim (Vita) Muhlenkamp, Apopka, FL , Neal (Joyce) Muhlenkamp, Celina, Sam (Rusty) Muhlenkamp, Leesburg, VA, Karen (Ron) Steventon, Omaha, NE, Gary (Mary Agnes) Muhlenkamp, Geneva, IN, June (Mike) Wuebker, Minster, Lyn (Mike) Brophy, St. Henry and Jill (Mark) Otte, Coldwater; 27 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; a sister Alexia Hickey, Kettering, and a sister-in-law Mary Knapke, Minster.
She is preceded in death by a daughter Ann Muhlenkamp, siblings: Joan Knapke, Fr. Paul Knapke, C.PP.S, Prisca (Witold) Liskowiak, Marie (John) Smith, Lorena Knapke, Luke Knapke, Constance (John) Goetz, Anthony Knapke, and Tom (Dorothy) Knapke; and in laws: John Hickey, Aloys and Amelia Muhlenkamp, Albin (Rose) Muhlenkamp, Alfons (Alvina) Muhlenkamp, Edmund (Rosella) Muhlenkamp, Max (Florence) Muhlenkamp, Hilbert (Alfrieda) Muhlenkamp, Herman (Odelia) Muhlenkamp, Theresa (Paul) Peters, Otto (Rosalyn) Muhlenkamp, Victoria (Norbert) Knapke and Elizabeth (Daniel) Hobbs.
She was a graduate of Minster High School and a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, was a member of the first graduating class of Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton, where she worked for 4 years before raising her family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 20, 2016 at St. Henry Catholic Church, with Fr. Ben Muhlenkamp, a grandson, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Henry Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 until 7 pm Friday and 9 until 10 am Saturday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.
