Myrna Glass
Myrna F. Glass, age 96, formerly of rural Celina, OH, died 4:10 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2016 at St. Marys Living Center in St. Marys, OH.
She was born August 23, 1919 in Coldwater, OH, to Levi Lee and Effie (Smith) Shively. On December 24, 1942 in rural Celina, OH, she married Clinton Raymond Emmans, who died in September of 1956. On June 14, 1958 on Old Town Road near Celina, OH, she married George Edward Glass, who died November 20, 1998.
She is survived by: Daughter, Nancy (James) Art of Ft. Wayne, IN Son, Thomas (Joan) Glass of Loyalhanna, PA Daughter, Jerri (Frank) Cordier of Lucasville, OH, 9 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; by both of her husbands; 5 brothers: Otis Shively, Vernon Shively, Paul Shively, Edwin Shively and an infant brother; sisters: Opal Dickman-Whitefoot, Lillian Grimm, Arvesta Grier, Valore Pearson, and Laura Shively and 2 great-grandsons: David Wayne Devore and Micah Giovanni Art.
She was a 1937 graduate of Washington Township High School in Mercer County. She was a homemaker. In her younger years, she did a lot of public speaking in schools, churches, and service clubs. She was a member of Hillsdale Brethren Church in St. Marys, OH.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West Chapel) in St. Marys. Burial will follow at Swamp College Cemetery in Mercer County, OH.
Visitation for family and friends will be held 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
