Robert Adams
Robert Dean Adams, age 85, of rural Spencerville, passed away Wednesday evening, May 11, 2016 at his residence.
He was born July 21, 1930 in Rimer, Ohio, to the late Berl F. & Velma C. (Davis) Adams. He married Shirley Foreman on May 24, 1969, and she survives, along with four Children: Brenda Sigler (Jim) Wise of Hillsdale, MI, Kim (LuAnn) Sigler of Rockford, Jodi Adams Veit of Celina, and Troy (Cheryl Sunderland) Adams of Spencerville, eight Grandchildren: Ryan and Steven Blue, Lauren Keiffer, Angela Stephenson, J.R. Sigler, RJ and Paige Veit, and Tye Adams, seven Great Grandchildren, a Brother: John F. Adams of Mendon, and two Sisters-in-law: Mary Lou Adams of Mendon and Fran Adams of Ottawa.            
He was preceded in death by four Brothers & Sisters: Anne Townsend, Elnore Jenkins, Donald W. "Bill" Adams and Kenneth Ray Adams.  
A 1948 Graduate of Rockford High School, Bob was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1951-1955. He was a life member of the Harry J. Reynolds American Legion Post #191 in Spencerville.
Bob was a lifetime Farmer, and had also worked for New Idea Farm Equipment in Coldwater, as a Field Test Engineer. He served on the Board of Directors of Mercer Landmark for many years.
Bob loved farming. He restored old tractors, collected toy tractors, and was an avid reader. He was an animal lover, being especially fond of dogs. He enjoyed the outdoors, sitting outside watching birds, and doing things with his Grandkids.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, May 16, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Mendon, with Pastor Randy Christian officiating. Burial will follow at Tomlinson Cemetery, near Mendon, with graveside military rites to be conducted by the Spencerville Veterans.
Calling Hours are from 2:00-6:00 P.M, Sunday, May 15, and 10:00-11:00 A.M. on Monday, at the Mendon Funeral Home.
Memorial Contributions may be made to State of the Heart Hospice or Kidney Services of West Central Ohio in Celina.
