At 646 PM EDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Van Wert to near Monroe, moving southeast at 30 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 45 mph, frequent cloud-to-ground lightning, and very heavy rain.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Lightning can cause serious injury or death. Visibility will be poor and hydroplaning is possible.
Locations impacted include... Rockford, Mendon, Chattanooga, and Tama.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a sturdy building.
Motorists should slow down and use extra caution.
When thunder roars, go indoors! Do not stay in the open or seek shelter under trees when lightning threatens.

Bernice McDowell
Bernice McDowell, 86, Fort Recovery, Ohio, died on May 17, 2016, at her home.
She was born May 31, 1929, in Fort Recovery, to the late William Rohrer and Catherine (Livingston) Rohrer. On May 26, 1951, she married the late Carl E. McDowell Sr., who died June 25, 1981.
Surviving are seven children, Carl Edward (Connie) McDowell Jr. of Portland, IN, Connie Price of Portland, IN, John (Karla) McDowell of Fort Recovery, Norbert McDowell of Fort Recovery, Virginia (Bob) Bueter of Fort Recovery, Dolores McDowell of Celina, OH, James McDowell of Celina, OH; 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren; two brothers, Ernest Rohrer of Fort Recovery and Jerry (Ardith) Rohrer of Union City, OH.
She was also preceded in death by her great grandchild, Alisha Price, and her siblings, Saloma Glassford, Rich Rohrer, Rosellan Ruhenkamp and Norma Smith.
Bernice was a 1949 graduate of Fort Recovery High School. She was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery and its Altar Sodality. Bernice enjoyed playing bingo at the Mercer County Council on Aging and family gatherings.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery, with Fr. Paul Wohlwend officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Calling is 2:00 pm-8:00 pm Friday and 9:00 am-10:00 am Saturday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Ohio.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Mercer County Council on Aging.
