* IMPACTS...The cold wind chills as low as 13 below zero could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken. Very cold temperatures can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.

Carolyn Vaughn
Carolyn L. Vaughn, 79, Fort Recovery, Ohio, died June 28, 2016 at The Gardens at Celina, Celina, OH.
She was born June 16, 1937, in Springfield, OH, to the late Edwin and Alma (Torlina) Pitt. On June 22, 1963, she married James F. Vaughn, who survives.
Also surviving are her daughter, Colleen Vaughn and (Kendall Storie) of Fort Worth, TX; her two sons, James A. (Sharon) Vaughn and Jeff (Shelly) Vaughn, both of Fort Recovery, OH; a brother, Ed (Joyce) Pitt of Springfield, OH; her six grandchildren; and in-laws, Sue and Oscar Jutte of Fort Recovery, OH.
Carolyn was a 1955 graduate of Catholic Central High School, Springfield, OH and received a bachelor's degree in nursing from The Ohio State University, Columbus, OH. She was formerly employed as a nurse with the original Hospice organization in Mercer County and later worked as the receptionist at her husband's dental office.
She was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority, the Fort Recovery Historical Society and Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery. Carolyn enjoyed reading, flowers, visiting casinos and being active in the Fort Recovery Historical Society.
After retirement, Carolyn and her husband were avid attendees at many auctions, especially those which featured antiques. She had a true appreciation for antique glassware.
A Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 am Friday, July 1, 2016 at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery, with Fr. Ned Brown officiating. Burial will take place in Spring Hill Cemetery, Fort Recovery. A reception of family and friends and a luncheon will follow the funeral mass in the church undercroft.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorial contributions may be directed to the Fort Recovery Historical Society, Smiletrain, the St. Henry Emergency Squad or the Mercer County Civic Foundation.
