Ernest England
Ernest P. "Ernie"  England, age 86, of Mendon, passed away at 8:25 A.M., Friday, July 29, 2016 at his residence.
Born on July 19, 1930 in Fork Ridge, Tennessee, Ernie was a son of the late Porter & Mary ( Smith ) England.
He married Dorothea "Jean" Young, and she survives, along with their five children: Terry & Terri Jo England of Spencerville, Ernie II & Jessica England of Rockford, Pam & Scott Stachler of Coldwater, Kim & Rob Zizelman of Mendon, and Joe & Vicki England of Van Wert, thirteen Grandchildren, twenty-one Great Grandchildren.
and three Sisters: Faye Miracle, Eva Jones and Dorothy Partin, all of Middlesboro, Kentucky.
Ernie was preceded in death by seven Brothers: Burl, Charles "Chalk", Arnold, Earl, Harold, J.C. & Glen England, and a Grandchild, Ashley England. 
He served with the U.S. Army in Germany from 1951-1954 during the Korean War, and was a member of Harry J. Reynolds American Legion Post #191 in Spencerville.
Ernie had worked in the coal mines in Kentucky, managed the former BONDED Service Station at the corner of Market & Ash Streets in Celina, and retired from the St. Marys Foundry. 
He loved watching western movies.  Ernie's favorite saying was "10-4, over and out".  He was a devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. Ernie was truly loved, and will be greatly missed.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, August 1, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Mendon, with Pastor Rick Brosher officiating.  Burial will follow at Mendon Cemetery,with military rites to be conducted by the Spencerville Veterans.
Calling Hours are from 1:00-3:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 31, at the Mendon Funeral Home.
