County fair ends on soggy note

CELINA - Drought conditions ruled Mercer County and the region - until fair time came.
The week saw steady rain, spotty rain, heavy rain, sprinkles and occasionally a little sunshine to welcome fairgoers.
However, aside from the precipitation, fair manager Cara Muhlenkamp reported a successful week. [More]

WAPAKONETA - Officials are looking at possible improvements to the fairgrounds before the 2017 Auglaize County Fair.
Fair Secretary Fred Piehl on Thursday asked county commissioners if they would be able to split the $63,000 cost of replacing two roofs and paving a gravel parking area.
