Wilma Painter
Wilma K. Painter, 90, Saint Marys, and formerly of Mendon, died 12:20 A.M. Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in Saint Marys.
She was born March 23, 1926, the daughter of Robert and Clara Metz. She married George Frederick Painter on January 15, 1947, and he preceded her in death on March 16, 2005.
She is survived by her daughter, Sonnie (Ken) Dershaw of Saint Marys; by two grandchildren: Kevin (Leslie) Koesters of Saint Marys; Kimberlee (Nick) Kiel of Saint Marys. She is survived by two great-grandchildren and by fifteen step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and her siblings Robert Metz and William Metz.
Wilma was a 1944 graduate of the Blume High School in Wapakoneta. She worked for many years at Marastan Sewing Company in Spencerville, and later at the Rockford Canning Company.
She enjoyed reading, cooking, sewing and spending time with her family and her special pet, Tucker.
She was a member of the Mendon United Methodist Church.
Funeral rites will be held 10:30 A.M. Friday, September 2, 2016, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, the Reverend Barry Stechschulte, officiant. Burial will follow at Mendon Cemetery.
