Norma Raterman
Norma M. Raterman age 93 of Minster passed away at 12:25 PM Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Versailles Health Care Center.
She was born on February 27, 1923 in Minster, Ohio to the late Frank & Cecelia (Thieman) Severin. She married Joseph L. Raterman on September 17, 1949 in Minster, Ohio. He preceded her in death on April 28, 2004.
She is survived by children: Mary Jo Raterman, Kettering, James & Karen Raterman, Versailles, Caren & Raymond Joyner, Lindenhurst, IL, 6 grandchildren: Jacki & Shane Stonebraker, Joe & Andrea Raterman, Julie & Kurt Thobe & Justine Raterman, Camille Joyner & Thomas Joyner, 9 great grandchildren: Brooke, Conner, & Maddox Stonebraker, Reed, Reagan, Remy & Ross Raterman, Tucker & Myla Thobe with another Thobe great grandchildren due in October, nieces: Carole Middendorf, Mary & Richard Connolly, nephews: John & Carol Huelsman, Robert & Ann Huelsman & William Frierott.
She was preceded in death by son Jay Raterman in 1979, sisters: Marie Huelsman, Elsie Meyer & Martha Hurley, brothers Urban Severin & Wilfred Severin.
She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and of the Minster Historical Society. Norma lived all her life in Minster except for 6 months when she lived in Denver, CO. When she moved back to Minster she worked as a secretary for John Herkenhoff at the Minster Machine Co. Her family was her whole life and she spent much time watching her children & grandchildren play high school & college sports and keeping score in her small notebook. She enjoyed playing bingo, cards and she rode her bicycle with her friends, late into her 70's.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 12, 2016 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, Ohio with Rev. Rick Nieberding celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster on Sunday, September 11, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and on Monday from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM.
Memorials may be made to State of the Heart Hospice.
