Scattered snow showers will become more widespread through this afternoon and then likely linger into this evening before tapering off into tonight.
The snow showers will be capable of causing brief periods of reduced visibilities, especially this afternoon. In addition, brisk conditions will prevail with west winds gusting in the 30 to 40 mph range today.
Light snow accumulations will be possible, mainly on grassy and elevated surfaces. While roads will remain mostly wet during the daytime hours, some slick spots may develop toward sunset and beyond as temperatures drop below freezing.
Please be prepared for the changing weather conditions today and the potential for reduced visibilities when driving.

Ruth Dickman
Ruth E. Dickman, 88, New Bremen, Ohio, died 9:00 P.M. Sunday, September 11, 2016, in the emergency department of Joint Township District Memorial Hospital.
She was born October 1, 1927, in New Knoxville, Ohio, the daughter of Ferdinand and Marie (Lutterbein) Clausing. She married Howard E. Dickman on June 26, 1949, at the First United Church of Christ, New Knoxville, and he preceded her in death on October 11, 2015.
She is survived by her four children: David (Marilyn) Dickman of New Bremen; Keith (Jeanne) Dickman of Spring Valley, Ohio; Thomas (Jill) Dickman of New Bremen; Susan Anderson of Bowie, Maryland. Ruth is survived by nine grandchildren: Katie Dickman; Tricia (Justin) Fox; Nathan (A.J.) Dickman; Timothy Dickman; Matthew Dickman; Kelley Dickman; Sarah (Jonathon Chase) Anderson; Emily (Victor) Evans; Nicole Anderson. She is also survived by her six great-grandchildren: Harper Fox; Hollis Fox; Henley Fox; Kaylee Chase; Blake Dickman; Levi Dickman; and two unborn great-grandchildren. She is survived by her brother, Lee (Sandra) Clausing of Saint Marys.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and by a brother, Vernon Clausing.
Ruth was a 1945 graduate of New Knoxville High School. She graduated from the Fort Wayne Business College and worked at New Idea Corporation before starting her family and becoming a full-time homemaker and farm wife.
She was a former 4-H advisor, and a member of Saint Paul's United Church of Christ in Saint Marys, where she had been a Sunday School teacher and a member of the Women's Guild.
Ruth was a cancer survivor. Ruth was proud of and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral rites will be held 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at Saint Paul's United Church of Christ in Saint Marys, the Reverend Ed Bray, officiant. Burial will follow at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville.
Friends may call from 4-8 P.M. Monday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, where memorial gifts may be given to the Saint Paul's United Church of Christ Endowment Fund, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
Friends may also call one hour prior to the funeral rites at Saint Paul's United Church of Christ on Tuesday morning.
