Dorothy Gavit
Dorothy C. Gavit age 96 of North Star, Ohio died on November 10, 2016 at her home in North Star.
She was born on August 17, 1920 in Mercer County, Ohio to the late Fred & Frances (Albers) Goecke. She married Robert C. Gavit on April 11, 1942 in Maria Stein, Ohio. He preceded her in death on December 9, 1995.
She is survived by children: Shirley & Bob Berger, North Star, Karen & Virgil Puthoff, Beavercreek, Michael Gavit, Minster, Margaret Gavit, Huber Heights, Rebecca & Henry Pohlman Versailles & Patrick & Margo Gavit, North Star, 15 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son John Gavit, daughter-in-law Patricia Gavit, 1 grandson and brothers & sisters, Victor Goecke, Alvina Drexler, Cornelius Goecke, Arnold Goecke, Leona Lee and Louis Goecke.
She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, North Star, Ladies Sodality and the North Star American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting and bowling. She worked with her husband Bob with Gavit Paving.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, November 14, 2016 at St. Louis Catholic Church, North Star, Ohio with Rev. David Zink celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Louis Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday, November 13, and at the Church from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Monday, November 14.
