NEW BREMEN - Upper Scioto Valley's Emily Patton put on a spectacular one-woman show on Thursday night against New Bremen.
But Patton alone couldn't trump the 32-minute effort put forth by the Cardinals.
New Bremen went punch-for-punch with Patton and the one-loss Rams, and made critical plays in the fourth quarter to score a 61-53 upset decision in non-conference girls basketball action. [More]

Commissioners OK advertising for bids
CELINA - Work to limit erosion on Beaver Creek will continue in 2017.
Mercer County commissioners on Thursday moved to advertise for sealed bids on
ST. MARYS - City council will squeeze in three meetings next week to pass supplemental appropriations to close out 2016 city accounts.
"You can't leave money in those accounts. They have to be zeroed," city auditor Doug Riesen said at Thursday night's special meeting.
CELINA - Although Thursday's result will go in the wrong column of the record book, Celina coach Jay Imwalle said his team had a lot of positives to take away from the 71-64 loss to Toledo Central Catholic at the Fieldhouse.
