Ronald Wourms
Ronald John Wourms, 82, of Sidney, passed away at 3:45 PM on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Wilson Health.
He was born on February 12, 1934 in Coldwater, Ohio, the son of the late Aloisius and Luetta (Bruns) Wourms. On October 20, 1962 he married the former Marjorie Rose Huelskamp who preceded him in death in 1977.
Ron is survived by his five children; Karen (David) Butt of Sidney, Judy (Jay) Billing of Columbus, Dan Wourms of Sidney, Cindy (David) Tramontana of Cincinnati, and Jennifer (Todd) Taylor of Westfield, IN, ten grandchildren; Heather (Kelly) Grant, Nicole Graham, Jessica (Mitch) Rank, Claire and Elaine Billing, Mia and Max Tramontana, Keenan, Brynn and Ian Taylor, three siblings; Sandra (Merle) Aase of Crystal, MN, Tim (Pat) Wourms of Trenton, OH, and Steve (Carol) Wourms of Coldwater and one brother-in-law, Jack Ballinger.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Cathy Ballinger.
Mr. Wourms graduated from Coldwater High School in 1952. He attended the General Motors Institute technical school from 1952-1954. Ron was a veteran of the United States Army. He was employed by Nabisco Corporation as a Salesman for 25 years.
Ron's Catholic faith was an important part of his life and he was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church for 54 years.
After retiring, Ron enjoyed taking trips driving out west. In his free time he liked to work on Sudoku puzzles and build model airplanes. Ron valued his time spent with his family including monthly pinochle games. We are thankful he could spend this last Christmas with us.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Rev. James J. Riehle officiating. Burial will follow at Shelby Memory Gardens.
Friends may call on Friday from 4-7 PM and on Saturday morning from 9:00-9:45 AM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home 302 S. Main Ave. Sidney.
Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Angels Catholic Church or Lehman High School Foundation in memory of Ronald Wourms.
