At 1212 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located near New Bremen, moving northeast at 50 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 45 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Hail may cause minor damage to vegetation. Locations impacted include... Newport, Fryburg, Montra, Egypt, Uniopolis, New Bremen, Buckland, Botkins, New Knoxville, Fort Loramie, Kettlersville, Moulton, Jackson Center, St. Marys, Anna, Kossuth, Lakeview, Lake Loramie State Park, Waynesfield, and Wapakoneta. This includes I-75 in Ohio between mile markers 96 and 118. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a sturdy building. Marcella Thomas
Marcella R. Thomas, 93, formerly of New Bremen, died at 12:15 a.m. Jan. 20, 2017, at St. Marys Living Center, where she had resided the last nine years.
Services 10:30 a.m. Monday at the St. Paul United Church of Christ, New Bremen, the Rev. Becky Erb Strang officiating. Burial will follow at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville.
Calling is 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at the church.
Memorials may be given to the New Bremen Emergency Squad or Grand Lake Hospice.
