Bill Ballinger
Bill E. Ballinger, age 92 of Celina, Ohio passed away on Friday Jan 27, 2017 at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
Bill was born on Feb. 4, 1924 in Celina, Ohio to the late Van and Martha (Smith) Ballinger. On June 8, 1952 he married Joyce Lime, who died Oct. 29, 1996.
Survivors include his sons Mark Ballinger and Melissa Alexander of Celina, Luke Ballinger of Ft. Wayne, IN, his daughter Rita Schulte of Willmar, MN, five grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, brothers Paul Ballinger, Jack Ballinger, and his sisters Mercedes Schindler, Dorothy and Glenn Scifres and Helen Kirwan.
Bill worked at Lake Contracting in Celina for 12 years and was a co-owner of Kinnison's Tin shop in Celina for 27 years.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Celina, where he was a Deacon, the Celina Masonic Lodge F&AM and the Celina Chapter of Royal Arch Masons and a former member of the Mercer County Sportsmen's Association.
Bill loved hunting and Fishing at Elephant Lake in Minnesota, he enjoyed walking especially with his Boston Terriers Roxi and Roxi II.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday Feb. 2, 2017 at the First Presbyterian Church in Celina, with Nancy Clancy officiating. Burial will follow in the Swamp College Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday Jan. 31, 2017 at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral home in Celina and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Thursday at the Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
