Cyrillus Lange
Cyrillus B. Lange, age 91, Fort Loramie, passed away of natural causes late Wednesday evening, February 15, 2017, at The Gardens of St. Henry in St. Henry, Ohio.
He was born March 20, 1925, in St. Henry, Ohio, to the late Louis and Anna (Selhorst) Lange. On July 20, 1973, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Fort Loramie, Cyril married Margaret (Wappelhorst) Pleiman Lange who preceded him in death on November 12, 2016.
Surviving are six children: Barbara & Jeff Pleiman of Minster, Patricia & Dan Schmiesing of Anna, Rebecca & John O'Reilly of Sidney, Anita & James Couchot of Sidney, Robert Pleiman of Keyport, NJ and Randy Pleiman of Fort Loramie; eleven grandchildren: Jack, Noah and Shelby Pleiman, Bradly, Emma, Dylan & Ava Schmiesing, Kelly (Aleks) Sanchez, Stephanie, Brian, and Sarah Couchot; three great-grandchildren, Isabella Sanchez, Cameron and Kendall Robinson; five siblings: Rita Schroer of St. Henry, Leroy Lange of St. Henry, Frances Gehret of Fort Loramie, Cletus & Edna Lange of St. Henry and Louis & Martha Lange of Wapakoneta; sisters & brothers-in-law: Marcella Lange of Celina, Linda Wappelhorst of Greenville, Jane Wappelhorst of Virginia, Dean & Mary Jane Steinke of Botkins, Angie & Marion Phlipot of Russia, Charlene Meyer of Newport and Norma Toller of Fort Loramie.
He was preceded in death by daughters-in-law, Catherine and Lynn Pleiman; six siblings: Marie & Albert Pottkotter, Elmer Lange, Cleopha & Ralph Strete, Wilhelmina & Sylvester Dues, Sr., Agnes Lange and Eugene Lange; brothers & sisters-in-law: P. Joseph Schroer, Ilene Lange and Lawrence Gehret as well as several Wappelhorst and Pleiman in-laws.
Mr. Lange served as US Army CPL during the Korean War. He had been employed at New Idea in Coldwater for 36 years; he often traveled testing experimental farm machinery.
Cyril was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and had been a Life Member of the Fort Loramie American Legion and Coldwater VFW. He was a past member of the St. Henry K of C, Coldwater Eagles and the Celina Moose Lodge. Cyril enjoyed his family and building wind animated yard ornaments.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Monday, February 20, 2017, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Fort Loramie with Rev. Steven Shoup presiding. Interment will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion.
Friends may call Sunday 2:00 to 7:00 PM and Monday 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie.
