John Koewler
John C. Koewler, 45, of Maplewood, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2017 at 10:15 PM on Herring Road in Port Jefferson from the result of an automobile accident.
He was born on September 21, 1971 in Sidney, Ohio, the son of Cheryl (Stangel) (Dan) VanFossen of Sidney and the late John W. Koewler.
He is survived by two children, Curtis and Kaitlin Koewler both of Sidney, one sister, Amy (Nick) Fisher of Coldwater, nieces and nephews, Betsy, LeAnn, Ted and Kevin Fisher, special friend, Rhonda Burnside of Sidney, aunts and uncles, his k-9 companion, Keno, and many close friends.
John worked for RB Jergens Contractors in Vandalia, OH, and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 17, 2017 at 10 AM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave., Sidney, with Pastor Bill Halter officiating. A Committal Service will be at Glen Cemetery in Port Jefferson at a later date.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4 to 7 PM.
