Ben Lammers
Ben M. Lammers, 82, Saint Marys, died 2:28 P.M. Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at St. Rita's Medical Center, following a brief illness.
He was born October 16, 1934, in Minster, the son of Benjamin and Bertha (Hartman) Lammers. He married Diane Linscott and she preceded him in death. He married Judy Weigel, and she survives in Saint Marys.
He is survived by his children: Deb (Dave) Frilling of Saint Marys; Kurt (Terri) Lammers of New Bremen. He is survived by his five grandsons: Andrew Miley; Matt Miley; Jason Lammers; Troy Lammers; Scott Lammers. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren: Emma Lammers and Maci Lammers, and by a brother, Kurt (Marilyn) Lammers of Minster.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ben was the owner of the former Ben's Bicycle Shop in Saint Marys; he had also owned the 7th Street Carry-Out in Coldwater a Kawasaki motorcycle shop.
He enjoyed caring for his cars, gardening, building wood projects, and hanging out with his friends at McDonald's and Pantry Pride.
Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 25, 2017, at the Zion Lutheran Church, Saint Marys, the Reverend Bill Maki, officiant. Burial will follow at Willow Grove Cemetery, New Bremen.
Friends may call from 4-8 P.M. Wednesday at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, Saint Marys, where memorial gifts may be given to Zion Lutheran Church.
