Wilbur Greber
Wilbur H. Greber, 92, formerly of New Bremen, died 11:58 P.M. Sunday, May 21, 2017, at the Gardens of Celina.
He was born May 3, 1925, on the family farm, the son of Leo and Charlotte (Hegemier) Greber. He married Enola L. Bushman on September 4, 1948, in New Bremen, and she preceded him in death on July 7, 2015.
He is survived by his four children: Roger (Linda) Greber of New Bremen; Ronald (Deb) Greber of Celina; Diane (Dave) James of New Bremen; Larry (Tammy) Greber of New Bremen. He is survived by his 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 4 step-great-grandchildren, and by 1 great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and by one brother, Bernard Greber; by his step-mother-in-law, Flo Bushman.
Wilbur was a 1943 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School. He retired after 32 years of service at Stamco in New Bremen, and he was a lifelong farmer.
He enjoyed working in his shop where he made things for his grandchildren; he and Enola liked to travel, and he loved cats. He was a member of Saint Paul's United Church of Christ in New Bremen.
Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 25, 2017, at the St Paul United Church of Christ, New Bremen, the Reverend Becky Erb-Strang, officiant. Burial will follow at German Protestant Cemetery in New Bremen.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, where memorial gifts may be given to State of the Heart Hospice.
