An Arctic front will sweep east across the region between 5 AM and 9 AM. A few hours of snow showers and west wind gusts of 35 to 40 mph will occur with the frontal passage. While any accumulations will generally be a half inch or less, some challenging travel conditions may develop given, rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities, strong wind and cold temperatures. These conditions will impact the morning commute. Use caution and allow for extra time to reach your destination.

Leona Bertke
Leona E. Bertke, 97, Fort Recovery, Ohio, died on July 14, 2017, at Briarwood Village, Coldwater, Ohio. She was born February 2, 1920, in Burkettsville, OH, to the late Anton "Tony" and Elizabeth (Borgerding) Miller. On September 19, 1937, she married Walter Bertke, who died April 12, 1993.
Surviving are her children, Gerald Bertke of Fort Recovery, OH, Louis (Kathi) Bertke of Tremont, IL, Judith Homan of Fort Recovery and Mel (Karen) Bertke of Fort Recovery; a sister, Donna Vehorn of Botkins, OH; 18 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; son-in-law, James Maier of Celina, OH and sister-in-law, Mary Miller of Sidney, OH.
Preceding her in death are her children, Leroy Bertke, Shirley Maier, Walter Bertke Jr.; a grandson, Matthew Huber; a son-in-law, Ernest Homan; daughters-in-law, Pat and Georgia Bertke; siblings, Phil (Ed) Mueller, Verona (Joe) Mueller, Aloys (Esther) Miller, Alma (Urban) Moorman, Linus (Dean) Miller, Alphonse Miller, Ann (Harold) Sudhoff, Wilbert (Dorothy) Miller and Richard Miller; and a brother-in-law, Herb Vehorn.
She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Fort Recovery, St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joe, Ohio and its Altar Rosary Sodality. Leona enjoyed bingo, dancing and playing cards.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joe, Fr. Matthew Feist officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, St. Joe.
Calling is 3:00 pm-8:00 pm Monday July 17, 2017 and 9:00 am-9:45 am Tuesday at Brockman - Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Ohio.
Contributions can be made to the Friends of St. Joe Church Maintenance Fund.
