Water and more than 100 large round bales of straw stand in Roger Evers' field south of Fort Recovery-Minster Road and west of Goettemoeller Road in Marion Township. Overnight, 3.54 inches of rain saturated the area delaying the final step in harvesting the straw, according to local weatherman Dennis Howick. Tama Road between U.S. 127 and Stose Road and Neptune-Mendon Road between Denny and Thomas roads remained closed this morning, according to the Mercer County Engineer's Office.
