Margaret M. Chiles, 90, Saint Marys, died 3:55 P.M. Monday, August 21, 2017, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital.

She was born June 21, 1927, in Saint Marys, the daughter of Emil and Nellie (Vogel) Schultz. She married Merril W. Chiles on July 10, 1948, at Zion Lutheran Church in Saint Marys, and he preceded her in death on March 24, 1998.

She is survived by her children: Kathleen (Doug) Frampton of Carrollton, Ohio; Jerry (Brenda) Chiles of Knox, Indiana; Dennis (Trena) Chiles of Saint Marys. She is survived by her eight grandchildren: Jason (Bethany) Frampton; Caroline (Andrew) Tuesday; Derek Chiles; Cameron Chiles; Adam (Kacie) Chiles; Brad (Abbi) Chiles; Christopher Chiles; Drew (Britany) Chiles. She is also survived by her nine great-grandchildren. She is survived by her siblings: Esther (Charles) Bush of Tustin, California; Lowell (Ann) Schultz of Irving, Texas; by a sister-in-law, Evelyn Schultz of Moulton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers: Elmer Schultz and Ralph Schultz; a sister-in-law, Grace Schultz.

Margaret was a 1945 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School. She had worked at the Saint Marys Blanket Factory, and later, as a meatcutter at IGA. She was a member of Wayne Street United Methodist Church in Saint Marys. Margaret enjoyed quilting and gardening.

Funeral rites will be held 10:30 A.M. Friday, August 25, 2017, at the Wayne Street United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Thursday at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, Saint Marys, where memorial gifts may be given to the Auglaize County Council on Aging.
