Wes Harris of VTF Excavating of Celina operates a compact excavator Monday afternoon on Beaver Street near Canal Street in Montezuma. The construction is part of a project to improve 6,100 linear feet of streets and alleyways. Funding will come from a Community Development Block Grant, the Ohio Public Works Commission and Mercer County's revolving loan program. The village will contribute $18,000. Council members accepted VTF's $399,229 bid for the project. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of October.
