Two-vehicle accident

A 1997 Chevrolet sedan sits off State Route 29 after an accident around noon Wednesday at the intersection of state routes 29 and 118 in Jefferson Township. According to a Mercer County Sheriff's Office report, Thomas J. Pesenecker, 50, Fort Wayne, Indiana, had stopped northbound on State Route 118 at a stop sign at the intersection. He then reportedly turned westbound onto State Route 29, failing to yield, and his 2007 Ford sedan struck the Chevrolet traveling westbound on State Route 29 driven by Connie M. Seals, 65, Celina. Seals suffered non-incapacitating injuries and was taken to Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater. Pesenecker was not injured. His passenger, Suzanne K. Benedict, 38, Fort Wayne, Indiana, suffered non-incapacitating injuries and was taken to Community Hospital. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage. All those involved were reportedly wearing seatbelts, and alcohol and drugs were determined not to be factors.
