Roger Bey
Roger Vernon Bey, age 73, of Arling Road, St. Patrick, passed away of natural causes Thursday morning, October 26, 2017, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima, Ohio.
He was born December 16, 1943, in Frenchtown, Ohio, to the late Loyd and Frances (Eck) Bey. On July 10, 1965, Roger married Marie (Seger) Bey who preceded him in death on December 13, 2008. On Oct. 16, 2010, Roger married Dolores (Tipton) Riethman Bey and she survives.
Also surviving is one daughter, Donna & Darick May of St. Marys and four grandchildren: Katlin, Kelly, Kyle and Kara May; three step children: Brian & Jeannie Riethman of Fort Loramie, Stacie & Justin Sparks of Sidney, Roseann Riethman of Anna and eight step grandchildren: Jessica, Bethany and Frank Riethman, Kaleb, Kyler and Kason Sparks, Summer Oaks and Abigail Ferryman; two siblings, Vera & Charley Schmidt of Coldwater and Helen & Doyle Lane of Troy; brothers & sisters-in-law: Marlene Seger of Covington, John & Barb Seger of Fort Loramie, Norman Grisez of Piqua, Phyllis Seger of Sidney, Mary & Louis Christman of Anna, Betty Locker of Columbus and John Knueve of Wapakoneta.
He was preceded in death by three sons: Roger Jr., Doug and Jason Bey; siblings: Jean Schluter, Betty & Ed Buzard, John & Janet Bey, and Judy Homan; sisters & brothers-in-law: Mary & Roger Platfoot, Norma Grisez, Ray, Charles & Dianne, Bob, Jim, & Naomi and Art Seger, Joseph and David Tipton, Paul Locker and Joann Knueve.
Mr. Bey retired in 1997 from Stolle Corporation in Sidney, now known as Alcoa Home Exteriors. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and the Minster Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge #1391. Roger enjoyed fishing and working with wood.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at St. Michael Church in Fort Loramie with Rev. Steven Shoup presiding. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery.
Friends may call Monday 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Tuesday 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie.
