Marlin was a 1941 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School, and a veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, Saint Marys.

The Lord called home a man who stood out in our world. His gentle, kind, generous nature were just a few of his attributes. His passing leaves a hole in the hearts of his family and friends. His love for the everyday and contentment with life are what endeared us all to him.
He loved fishing, square dancing, and caring for his beautiful big yard. But most of all his joy was his family: his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his passion. His partner of nearly 70 years was Martha, his first and only love. They are surely together dancing the dance.
Funeral rites will be held 10:30 A.M. Thursday, November 9, 2017, at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, Saint Marys, the Reverend Josh Andrew and the Reverend Bill Maki, officiants. Burial, with military honors, will be conducted at Elm Grove Cemetery, Saint Marys.
